Today was a big day for any Midwest
electronic music fan – the release of Electric Forest festival 2016 lineup that
is held in Rothbury, Michigan June 23rd to June 26th. Electric Forest is definitely one of the top
festivals that is held in the Midwest, that has had a history of bringing the best artists around to fill their headlining time slots. This year, the creators of Electric Forest
decided to get their massive fan base involved in the release of the lineup, instead of putting a full lineup out to the public. The festival organizers sent postcard type letters out to their fans with some names of the artists that
are on this years lineup (see pictures below), and by using the social media hash tag #EF2016Reveal
fans that received the post mail got the word out to the rest of the world rather
quickly. With massive headlining names like Bassnectar, The String Cheese
Incident, Major Lazer, Bonobo, STS9, etc. it is no surprise that the festival
sold out in record time this year, even BEFORE any artists were announced. But
with all the big names comes the rising new talent in the industry that makes
every festival worth going to. EForest definitely put their time into choosing
the best up and comers because this list is stacked with incredible talent.
Some of these new artists you guys need to check out if you haven’t already
are: NGHTMRE, Mija, AC Slater, Stephen, Rufus Du Sol, Slander, Gryffin, and so
many more. The best festival memories come from artists that you hear for the
first time, so even if you won’t be attending the Forest this year – check out
